BIOBYTE NEWSLETTER

FALL 1995

Has it really been a full year since our last newsletter and the release of MacLogP? Time passes much too quickly it seems, so we won't take much of yours. The licensing of the MacLogP software over the past year has been very successful, in great part due to the help from our Japanese distributor, Adam Net Ltd.

We are pleased to announce the licensing of our newest product: ClogP for Windows. Many thanks to all of you who helped us with the beta testing.

BioByte continues to offer free evaluations of all our software: via e-mail (BinHexed) or air-mail (diskette) for MacLogP, and in other cases the magnetic media (diskette for Windows, TK50 for VAX) will be sent by air. Click here for contact info.

Pricing for ClogP for Windows:

Single CPU licenses are $1150 for commercial users, $860 for government, and $690 for academic. There is additional multi-cpu discounting available. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any information concerning our programs or pricing.

Come visit BioByte's web page: http://www.biobyte.com/~clogp/
Your comments and suggestions will be welcomed.

In addition to the new products and functionality, some of which are highlighted later, BioByte has a very robust suite of programs available for the VAX/VMS. We are also looking into porting these programs to Open VMS sometime in the very near future. Any feedback concerning your needs in this area will be greatly appreciated.

We have extended an invitation to visit our web page, but in addition to an electronic visit, we would like to extend an invitation to any of our colleagues who may be visiting Southern California: please come and see us if you have the time. Some of you have taken us up on this offer over the past year, and these visits have been very enjoyable.

For some years now Dr. Albert Leo has had a quote by Edna St. Vincent Millay on the back of his business card, and BioByte has adopted it as one of our mission statements:

Upon this gifted age rains from the sky
a meteoric shower of facts...
they lie unquestioned, uncombined.
Wisdom enough to leech us of our ills
is daily spun, but there exists
no loom to weave it into fabric.

Be sure and check out our ad in the November 13th issue of C&E NEWS. Its a special issue on Computers & Chemical Information.
